A place to anchor, or the place where a boat lies anchored.

Anchorage usually refers to a place suitable for anchoring, when the wind, seas, tides and bottom are taken into account.

The area of a port or harbor is also known as an anchorage.

'Anchorage' is sometimes used to refer to the ground only.

(Not to be confused with the city in Alaska.)

"anchorage" is a noun.
